Dear Friends of the Robinson Choral Department,

In July of 2012 choirs from all around the world will arrive in Cincinnati Ohio for the 2012 World Choir Games.  Two choral ensembles from Robinson Secondary School, the Select Women’s Ensemble and the Robinson Singers have been accepted by audition to perform at this prestigious choral competition.  Over the days of July 4-8, the Robinson Choirs will have adjudicated performances where they will be evaluated by an international panel of choral conductors.  The students will also have the opportunity to share “friendship concerts” with other choirs from around the world and attend clinics and performances.  If you would like to see our concert program repertoire, please check out the attachment at the bottom of the page.

The World Choir Games begin with an Olympic style opening ceremony complete with a parade of nations.  As of today, the Robinson Secondary School choirs have two of the four groups representing the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The students have been working hard over the course of many years to reach the level of artistry required to participate in such an enriching endeavor.  Of course, there is an expense involved with putting a trip like this together.  The students in the choirs very much would like to experience this once in a lifetime event. However, as we all know, times are tough and available dollars are scarce.

Would you consider helping us fund our trip to the World Choir Games by becoming a sponsor?   We are trying to raise $50,000 for the sixty-three students who will attend this trip.

If you make a donation, we would like to recognize you at our farewell concert at the beginning of July and throughout the year in our concert programs.  Thank you so much for your support and I hope you will consider helping our wonderful student musicians go for the Gold and join a world-wide community of musicians.
